Ben Morales Frost

Composer, Orchestrator, Producer and Arranger | Film • TV • Immersive

Ben is a multi-disciplinary composer, producer, orchestrator, and arranger, specialising in emotional and evocative thematic scores for film and immersive experiences. He has a particular focus on crossover projects involving scoring, song production and orchestral arranging.

Working from his London studio, he crafts bold, memorable music that blends the full power of the orchestra with contemporary electronics, creating a distinctive and compelling sonic world with an emphasis on storytelling. Whilst Ben’s obsession with modern animation and the golden age of film scoring have led to his passion for colourful music, he is also equally at home with minimalist textures and synths. With his eclectic background in film, theatre, songwriting and large-scale immersive events, Ben has a unique CV amongst composers and an unrivalled track record in getting unusual projects to the finish line.

Profile

Ben is a multi-disciplinary composer, producer, orchestrator, and arranger, specialising in emotional and evocative thematic scores for film and immersive experiences. He has a particular focus on crossover projects involving scoring, song production and orchestral arranging.

Working from his London studio, he crafts bold, memorable music that blends the full power of the orchestra with contemporary electronics, creating a distinctive and compelling sonic world with an emphasis on storytelling. Early mentoring from John Wilson and David Cullen, alongside an obsession with modern animation and the golden age of film scoring have led to his passion for colourful music that uses the orchestra to its fullest. He is also equally at home with minimalist textures, soundscapes and synths. With his eclectic background in film, theatre, songwriting and large-scale immersive events, Ben has a unique CV amongst composers and an unrivalled track record in getting unusual projects to the finish line.

Recent high profile projects include additional music composer, arranger and orchestrator for Kate Winslet’s directorial debut Goodbye June; song arrangements and orchestrations for animated feature The Land of Sometimes; music producer, arranger and orchestrator on Disney’s The Castle; orchestrator on Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning, Argylle and Luther; and additional orchestration on Wonka.

Recent composition work on screen includes The Upside of Unrequited (feature), Blue (feature), Beautiful Things (short), Let’s Talk About George (short), The Language of Love (Channel 4 series) and Face2Face (feature).

Other projects include orchestrating and arranging the Jesus Christ Superstar Arena Tour, Phantom of the Opera 25th Anniversary at the Royal Albert Hall, Starlight Express, The Wizard of Oz at the London Palladium, and the original production of Love Never Dies.

Ben’s EP of new Christmas carols, What Will This New Day Bring?, was recorded with the City of London Choir and was ClassicFM’s choral choice, and his most recent album Forest Music, a collaboration with Violeta Vicci, was released in February 2025. His new orchestral piece, Ignition, will be recorded this autumn by the London City Orchestra.

Ben has recorded at every major London recording studio, and is a proud member of BAFTA Connect, a supporting member of the Alliance for Women Film Composers, on the Media Council at the Ivors Academy, and part of the Society of Composers and Lyricists in the US.
